Wjarm® is your responsible knitted friend
Wjarm's soft core is the responsibility that guides our operations. All emissions of women's, men's and children's Wjarm® knitted accessories that we sell has calculated over the entire life cycle. We consider the environmental impact at every stage and our production runs on carbon free energy.
That's why Wjarm® is a warm knitted friend of people who love the environment, which will withstand years of looks and use.
Carbon footprint
Wjarm® knitwear is made with carbon free energy in our own knitting factory in Yli-Ullava. However, CO2e emissions are always generated through production and materials and during transportation.
The carbon footprint of Wjarm® products has been calculated in cooperation with Green Carbon Finland in accordance with the GHG protocol . The calculation of the carbon footprint gives an accurate picture of the amount of CO2e emissions. The calculation of the carbon footprint has been carried out for Wjarm® products throughout their entire life cycle, from raising the sheep to washing and recycling the products.
The carbon footprint of Wjarm® knitwear is credited to Green Carbon Finland´s ISO standard to the corresponding domestic carbon sinks.
We are not perfect, but we are constantly improving our operations because we believe in responsible clothing production.
Merino wool with a good conscience
In our knitted accessories, we only use mulesing-free ecological merino wool, which can withstand wear and eyes for a long time. Natural fiber merino wool does not release microplastics in the wash, and merino wool knitted accessories do not need to be washed as often as synthetic fiber accessories. Fresh ventilation is enough for cleaning and at the same time you save energy and water.
All the way on the environmental side, starting from the carelabel
We design all our Wjarm® knitted products so that they generate minimal cutting waste - which we also recycle.
Even the smallest washcloths, care instructions and packaging materials are made from ecological and easily recyclable materials. We don't use plastic anywhere.
